Rob Burgio is an award-winning Goldwell National Artist, Master Stylist, and inventor of the Barracuda Comb Clip, a revolutionary patented hair sectioning tool designed to increase user control, speed, and efficiency.

Through his position at Goldwell, Rob fulfills his creative hunger and love of teaching by sharing the latest techniques and trends with new and established stylists across the country. He’s inspired by these interactions and cites mentorship and teamwork as his two favorite parts of the job.

Rob’s energy is contagious, and coupled with his passion for the art of practical and creative cutting and strong finishing techniques, have led to several top honors for his work. He was recognized as a 2020 Goldwell Creative Award U.S. Semifinalist for Creative Colorist of the
Year and Creative Haircutter of the Year, a finalist in the 2023 International Beauty Industry (IBI) Awards for Best Fantasy/Vivid Color, and earned a spot as a U.S. Bronze Winner for Goldwell’s Color Zoom 2019. Rob also served as Artistic Hair and Makeup Director for Miss Buffalo in 2017 and 2019.

Most recently, Rob has continued to raise the bar for haircutting education and innovation:

• Named by Beauty Launchpad as one of this year’s 25 Under 50K haircutting educators.
• His Barracuda 23T VG-10 Texturizer was featured in Beauty Launchpad’s Shear Brilliance roundup, rated #1 tool in the feature.
• Featured in American Salon magazine by editor Jennifer Rice, where he opened up about his journey from stylist to educator, inventor, and musician.
• Developed and launched two new haircutting programs for the KAO Salon Academy in NYC under Goldwell.
• Along with his brand Amplify the Stylist, has presented on stage at international beauty shows, Premiere events, and IBS shows—showcasing not only his products but also delivering cutting-edge classes and full-house trend-cutting presentations.

In addition to his work on stage and in the classroom, Rob owns and manages AmplifyTheStylist.com, an e-commerce hub featuring his patented Barracuda clips, premium scissors, combs, and other professional tools, along with educational resources. He also runs the YouTube channel Amplify the Stylist and an education-focused private Facebook community for stylists.

Rob is the owner of Tesoro Salon, a boutique hair studio in Buffalo, N.Y., specializing in precision haircutting and modern coloring techniques. A second-generation stylist, he credits his father—still an active hairdresser—for instilling in him an unwavering work ethic and deep respect for the craft.

Beyond the chair, Rob is an avid musician, performing in both rock and country bands, and he treasures time spent with his children—whether cheering at ballgames, visiting them at college, or chasing after his youngest, a budding athlete in her own right.
